The more quality articles you write, the easier it is to gain and maintain writing stars. You are then qualified to get upfront payments for eligible new articles. With five stars you get an upfront payment of $2.50 when you are in the first five to submit to a title, and an additional $1 empty title bonus if you are the first to write to a title. Anyone with a writing star can get the $1 bonus for writing to an empty title in an eligible channel, in addition to an upfront payment.
