Valentine Day is a wonderful day for giving and receiving love tokens, gifts and cards from your loved ones and admirers. It can hold great significance for many people and is considered to be just as important day as an anniversary.

With all the hype there is before the big day there is no reason why you shouldn't have had time to prepare for it properly, but there is one undeniable fact that always seems to become apparent. Men have great trouble living up to the romantic expectation that their women are dreaming of...

They are looking for that special first date. The first time you held hands. The first breathless kiss and the fawning helpfulness that overcomes you when you are in the throes of the first flush of love (or desire) They are waiting for you to recreate THE moment, all over again, and quite frankly, as you may have had no idea of what you were doing the first time around, a lot of you poor men out there have absolutely no idea of what she is getting at.

I have one word to give you and it will stand you in good stead for the day. The word is: IMAGINATION. The biggest error of judgment that you can make on valentine's day is to give her what she had the year before... and the year before that... or to look up on an Internet site to see that every other guy is buying for his loved one. You will want to buy what your partner will want not what some other guys loved one will be receiving.

Another mistake people make on Valentine's Day is to overspend. There is really no need for it. Especially with men... sorry guys, what your lady is after has nothing to do with money or sex for that matter and is relatively easy to find.

Think about the things that gives your partner pleasure. What brings a poignant tear to her eye? What will thrill her? Fascinate her?

Remember that "special look" that she gave you on your first date and you realized then that you had cracked it? Yep, she is after doing it to you again. In fact, she desperately wants to experience that special time with you once more ... but you have to get things right.

With this in mind, think about the gift that you want to give her. Chocolates and flowers and perfume are a tried and tested way to show your love and appreciation, but your lady will expect a little more too (especially if it is a repeat of the gift you bought her last year)
